Located in the Alto Douro wine region – classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site – the hotel complex arose from the reconstruction of the old manor house, caretaker's house, warehouse and several storehouses on the farm, and was the country's first wine hotel. The hotel is designed on two floors, with an emphasis on contact with the exterior and the independence of the various areas that constitute an establishment of this kind. The solution chosen took into account the characteristics of the existing buildings, which in essence follow the lines that exist in similar buildings in vineyards of the Douro region.
