Located in the Alto Douro Wine Region, which is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this intervention included a comprehensive program focused on respecting the natural surroundings. Facing north to the River Tedo, the winery is revealed between the terraced vineyards. The winery’s orientation results in indoor temperatures that are more stable and favourable for its function, as well as providing scenic views of the landscape from the leisure areas. The materials used reinforce the idea of fitting in with the surroundings. Natural local stone was used on the exterior, while exposed concrete panels were used for the interior.
